Caroline Back was just 18 when she was murdered by Dedea Redanies on 3
August 1856. She had been stabbed repeatedly in the chest

Age ? She was murdered by Abrahim Tarraf Tarraf in 1979 she had been killed
and then her body was cut up with a saw and the pieces placed in rubbish
bags and dumped in Sanayeh park. When sentence was passed it was in this
park where he was later publicly hanged

Age ? He was murdered by Abrahim Tarraf Tarraf in 1979. He had been killed
and then his body was cut into pieces and placed into rubbish bags which
were dumped in Sanayeh park where Tarraff was later hanged
Baird, Stephanie
Stephanie Baird was 29 when she was brutally murdered by Patrick Byrne
on 23 December 1959. She had first been strangled and then he had cut off
her head. The body was on the floor in her flat and the head was on the
bed. The body was naked and had suffered further mutilations.
Baker, Arthur Reginald
It is not known how old Arthur Reginald Baker was when he was murdered
by Kitty Byron on 10 November 1902. She had stabbed him twice with a long
bladed knife.
Balchin, Olive
The body of 40 year old Olive Balchin was found on a bomb site in Manchester.
Near the body a leather beaters hammer heavily bloodstained was found.She
had been murdered by Walter Graham Rowland on 20 October 1946. He had beaten
her to death with several hammer blows to the head
Ball, Brenda
Brenda Ball was only 22 when she was murdered by Ted Bundy on or about
1 June 1974
Ball, Mrs Vera
Mrs Vera Ball was 55 years old when she was murdered by her son Edward
Ball on 18 February 1936. She was believed to have been murdered with an
axe.
Barbe, Gilbert Warren
Gilbert Warren Barbe whose age is ? was murdered by Charles Henry Schwartz
on 30 July 1925. He was killed by a blow on the back of the head and then
the fingertips had been burnt with acid to try and prevent identification.
He had also tried to gouge the eyes out for the same reason. Finally the
body had been involved in an explosion and fire.
Barfield, Jennings
Jennings Barfield whose age is unknown was murdered by his wife Margie
Velma Barfield. She had poisoned him with arsenic.
Barlow, Mrs Elizabeth
Mrs Elizabeth Barlow lived in a house in Thornbury Crescent in Bradford
and was murdered by her husband Kenneth Barlow on 3 May 1957. Her body
was found in the bath and she appeared to have drowned. During the post
mortem two needle marks were found in the dead womans buttocks. She had
been given a lethal injection of insulin
Barnes, Alice
Alice Barnes whose age is unknown was murdered by Cross Duckworth in 1893
Barthelemy, Helen Catherine
Helen Catherine Barthelemy was 22 when she was killed and her body was
dumped in the playing fields belonging to the drugs giant Beecham. Her
body was found by a groundsman on 24 April 1964 making her the fifth victim
in this series of murders. The pathologist estimated that Helen had been
dead for about 48 hours when found. Helen a well known prostitute had been
born in Glasgow but had moved down to London in her teens and had been
here ever since. on 24 April 1964. She was to be listed as another of the
(Hammersmith Nudes)
She had been strangled possibly from behind and some of her teeth had
been extracted after death. She was naked and the pathologists were able
to establish that she had been stripped after death. As with some of the
earlier victims her body was covered in tiny fleck of paint, both primer
and topcoat. Her body had also been stored next to some sort of a heat
source.
Batten, Elsie May
Mrs Elsie May Batten whose age is unknown was murdered by Edwin Bush on
3 March 1961 She was found with an antique dagger protruding from her chest
and another one from her neck
Beale, Mrs Laura E
Mrs Laura E Beale who was 60 years old when she was murdered by Earle Leonard
Nelson on 2 March 1926. Her naked body was found in a lavatory She had
been strangled and raped
Beard, Mrs John E
Mrs John E Beard was 49 years old when she was murdered by Earle Leonard
Nelson on 23 December 1926. She had been strangled and raped
Beck, Richard & Elizabeth
Mr Richard Beck and his wife Elizabeth were both murdered by Richard Brinkley
on 20 April 1907 although unintentionally. Mr Beck was the landlord of
a building in which a Mr Parker lived. Brinkley had gone around to see
Parker and had taken him a present of a bottle of stout that he had laced
with Prussic Acid. While they were both out of the room Mr and Mrs Beck
came in with their daughter. On seeing the bottle of stout they all sampled
it. Mr and Mrs Beck died within a few minutes but their daughter was taken
to hospital and made a full recovery.
Beckermann, Karen Sue
Karen Sue Beckermann was just 18 when she was murdered by John Norman Collins
in 1969. She had been strangled and sexually assaulted.
Beckley, John
John Beckley was only 17 when he was murdered by Michael John Davies on
2 July 1953. He was stabbed during a gang fight
Behre, Friedhelm
Friedhelm Behre was just 26 when he was murdered by Werner Boost on or
about November 1955. He had been beaten with a blunt instrument but actually
died from drowning after his car had been driven into a gravel pit full
of water. His girlfriend was also in the car and she also died.
Benwell, Frederick Cornwallis
The frozen body of Frederick Cornwallis Benwell was found in a field near
Princeton, Ontario. He had been murdered by Reginald Birchall on or about
21 February 1890, he had been shot in the head twice
Bennett, Mrs
Mrs Bennett's body was found on the beach at Yarmouth. She had been murdered
by her husband Herbert John Bennett on 22 September 1900. He had tired
of her and fallen in love with another woman so wanted her out of the way.
She had been strangled with a bootlace.
Berndt, Conrad
Conrad Berndt whose age is unknown was murdered by Johann Schneider in
1899. After he was dead Schneider attempted to dispose of the body by burning
it in Berndt's own oven in his bakery
Beron, Leon
Leon Beron was 48 years old when he was murdered by Stinie Morrison on
1 January 1911. His skull had been fractured and he had been stabbed. A
crude letter 's' had been carved on each side of his face.
Bessarabo
Bessarabo was a wealthy businessman who had been born in Rumania. He had
met and married his wife shortly after the death of her first husband.
Myrtel liked the fast life and would often entertain other men. The Bessarabo's
would often argue and on 30 July 1920 she shot him.
With the help of her daughter they put the body into a trunk and sent
this to Nancy. When the body was discovered it was noted that as well as
being shot he had also suffered some bruises to the head and face in keeping
with quite a severe beating.
Bingham, James Henry
James Henry Bingham whose age is unknown was believed to have been murdered
by his sister Edith. He had been poisoned with arsenic. Edith was tried
on three counts of murder, that of her father, brother and sister, she
was however found not guilty
Bingham, Margaret
Margaret Bingham whose age is unknown was believed to have been murdered
by her sister Edith in 1911. She had been poisoned with arsenic. Edith
was tried for her murder but found not guilty
Bingham, William Hodgson
William Hodgson Bingham was believed to have been murdered by his daughter
Edith Bingham in 1911 He had been poisoned with arsenic. Edith was tried
but found not guilty
Bissette, Patricia
Patricia Bissette was a pretty 23 year old secretary who was murdered by
Albert De Salvo on 30 December 1962. She was raped and strangled with her
own blouse and stockings which had been twisted together and tied in the
familiar bow. Her naked body was discovered by her boss when he called
for her the next day to drive her to the office. She was victim number
eight of the Boston Strangler..
Black, Maria Ann
Maria Ann Black whose exact age is unknown, although it is known that she
was a teenager was murdered by Dedea Redanies on 3 August 1856. She had
been stabbed repeatedly in the chest.
Black, Mrs Annie
Mrs Annie Black was 50 and was well known in the little village of Tregonissey
which is near St Austell. She ran the village sweet shop and one day was
taken very ill. The problem seemed to be Gastro-Enteritis but when she
died on the 11 November 1921, the doctor was not convinced. He ordered
an autopsy and it was discovered that she had been poisoned with arsenic.
Her husband Ernest Black was arrested and it was soon proved that he had
murdered his wife.
Blake, Helen
Helen Blake, a retired nurse was 65 when she was murdered by Albert De
Salvo on 30 June 1962 She was strangled with a nylon stocking with one
of her bras looped through it and tied under her chin in the familiar bow.
The door to her apartment showed no sign of forced entry meaning that she
also opened the door to the murderer. She was the third victim of the strangler.
She was also the second to have been murdered on the same day. When police
entered her apartment they found her face down on the bed. She was wearing
only a pyjama top which had been pushed up to her shoulders. She had been
sexually assaulted although not raped. The medical examiner believed she
had been dead for about three days.
Blake, Mrs Sarah
Mrs Sarah Blake was 55 years old when she was murdered by Jack Hewitt on
3 March 1922 She had been beaten with a heavy iron bar and stabbed with
a knife repeatedly Her body was covered with more than sixty wounds and
bruises
Blakely, David
David Blakely was a racing car driver. He was murdered by Ruth Ellis on
10 April 1955. He was shot four times with a Smith & Wesson.
Borden, Andrew
Andrew Borden whose exact age is unknown was supposedly murdered by Lizzie
Borden, his daughter on 4 August 1892. He had been killed with an axe.
Although she was tried for the murder she was found not guilty.
Bouchard, Gaetane
Gaetane Bouchard was only 16 years old when she was murdered by John Vollman
on 13 May 1958. He had stabbed her to death.
Bovell, Mary Jane
Mary Jane Bovell was murdered by Thomas Clewes in 1889
Bowman, Margaret
Margaret Bowman was only 21 years old when she was murdered by Ted Bundy
on 15 January 1978. She had been strangled with a stocking and her knickers
had been torn off with such force that they had left graze marks on her
skin.
Boyle, James
James Boyle whose age is unknown was murdered by on James Fletcher. He
had been killed with a stone hammer.
Bradehoft, Joseph
Joseph Bradehoft was a 25 year old man who was murdered by Jeffrey Dahmer
on 19 July 1991. He had been murdered and his body cut up . His head was
then added to the collection already in the freezer. Joseph was to be Dahmers
last victim
Bradfield, Christina
It was a typically cold December day when 40 year old Christina Bradfield
was Murdered by George Ball. She had been his employer managing on behalf
of her brother the Old Hall Street shop, Bradfields, which made and sold
tarpaulins. The murder had taken place on the 10 December 1913. She had
been beaten to death with a blunt instrument and then her body had been
sewn into a sack along with some iron bars for extra weight.
Aided by a young 18 year old man, Samuel Angeles Elltoft they loaded
the body onto a handcart and pushed it down to the Leeds and Liverpool
canal where the sack was thrown in. The sack later fouled one of the lock
gates which was when the body was discovered.
Brennan, Sergeant
Sergeant Brennan whose age is unknown was murdered by Michael Lanaham in
1862. He was killed with a gun.
Briggs, Thomas
Thomas Briggs was 70 years old and was a retired bank clerk He was murdered
by Franz Muller on 9 July 1864 he had been attacked on a train and having
been robbed was then thrown out He was found on the railway line and later
died from blows struck by his own walking stick.
Brown, Archibald
Archibald Brown was a wheelchair bound father of 47 who was murdered by
his son Eric Brown on 23 July 1943. Archibald had been injured badly in
a motorcycle accident which eventually caused paralysis of the spine.
The family lived in a house in Rayleigh which was near Southend. Next
to the house was an air raid shelter and it was here that the wheelchair
was kept. Eric had obtained an Army landmine called a Hawkins no 75 and
had attached it to his wheelchair. While his nurse was pushing him the
mine went off and he was literally blown to peices.
Brown, Martin
The body of Martin Brown was found in a derelict house in the Scotswood
district of Newcastle. The little boy of 4 had been strangled. This was
a huge shock to the local residents but was soon followed by another when
it was discovered that he had been murdered on 25 May
1968 by Mary Flora Bell who was herself a child of just 11 years old
and helped by Norma Joyce Bell who strangley enough was not related. Although
she was two years older than Mary it was still Mary who was the driving
force.
Brown, Mary
Mary Brown was murdered by Albert De Salvo on 9 March 1963. Unlike the
other victims she had been beaten to death with a metal pipe. This was
one of two murders that the police had not attributed to De Salvo and only
found out when he confessed to them - The other one was that of Mary Mullen.
Brown, Mrs
Mrs Brown whose age is unknown was murdered by Peter Thomas Anthony Manuel
in September 1956, she had been shot
Bryan, Stephanie
Stephanie Bryan was just 14 years old when she was attacked and murdered
by Burton W Abbott on or about 28 April 1955. She had been kidnapped while
on the way home from school. She was then murdered and her body buried
in a shallow grave 300 miles away from home in the Trinity mountains. She
had been bludgeoned to death.
Bryant, Frederick
Frederick Bryant was murdered by his wife Charlotte on 22 December 1935
She poisoned him with Arsenic
Budd, Grace
Grace Budd lived with her family in a basement flat at west 15th
Street in New York. Her 18 year old brother, Edward, wanted
to escape from the city life and work in the country so he placed an advertisement
in a paper for farm work. He had a response in the form of a man
calling himself Frank Howard who was in fact Albert Fish. He stated
that he had a small dairy farm on Long Island and was prepared to offer
Edward a job. Edward quickly accepted and Fish told him that
he would come back at the end of the week to finalise arrangements.
He returned on the Sunday and was invited to lunch.
The Budd’s had five children but it was Grace that interested Albert
Fish. Grace was only ten but a very pretty girl. Albert Fish
told Grace’s parents, Delia and Edward that his sister’s daughter was having
a party and that if they didn’t mind he could take Grace along, she would
enjoy herself. They agreed and they left hand in hand. They
never saw her alive again, on the 27 May 1928 Grace Budd died. Albert
Fish took Grace to a cottage in Irvington where he strangled her and then
dismembered the body. Certain parts of her body were
selected and taken home to make a stew. Over the next nine days he
kept returning to the house to collect more pieces which he also ate.
He was not arrested for this murder until six years later. When
he told the police what had happened to Grace they went to the cottage
where they found 31 bones belonging to a young girl. Near the bones
were some beads which were later identified as being part of her rosary
which she had been wearing. They also found two of the implements
used in this brutal crime, a rusted saw and a meat cleaver.
Buisson, Celestine
Celestine Buisson was 44 years old when she was murdered by Henri Desire
Landru in 1916
Bullard, Lillie McMillan
Lillie Mcmillan Bullard whose exact age is unknown was murdered by her
daughter Margie Velma Barfield. She poisoned her with arsenic
Bulmer, Mrs
Mrs Bulmer whose exact age is unknown was murdered by her husband Charles
Bulmer in 1889 It was said that he almost cut off her head.
Burke & Hare
At least sixteen people were murdered by William Burke and William Hare
during the 1820s Their normal method of disposing of their victims was
by suffocation after which they would then sell the bodies to medical science.
Burnell, Freda
Freda Burnell was just 8 years old when she was murdered by Harold Jones
on 5 February 1921 She had died from shock and partial strangulation Jones
had also made an attempt to rape her but was unsucessful
Burnham, Alice
Alice burnham was 25 years old when she was murdered by George Joseph Smith
on 12 December 1913. She had been drowned in her bath and was to go down
in history as one of the brides in the bath.
Buys, Christiaan
Christiaan Buys whose age is not known was murdered by his wife Maria Groesbeek
on 28 March 1969. He was poisoned with arsenic.
